2 former bandits killed in Basilan attack

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — Two former Abu Sayyaf bandits were killed in an attack by unidentified assailants in Sumisip, Basilan on Monday.

Police identified the fatalities as Nadzmie Hatta Arili, alias Burhan, and Radzmie Amil Nakibsina, who had been reintegrated into the community a few months ago.

Investigation showed the victims were walking home in Sitio Datag, Barangay Ettub-Ettub when they were killed.

The victims died instantly from multiple gunshot wounds, probers said.

A manhunt has been launched for the assailants.
