75 OFWs back from Lebanon

MANILA, Philippines — Seventy-five more overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their dependents have returned from Lebanon, the Department of Migrant Workers reported yesterday.

The DMW said the number of repatriated OFWs from Lebanon reached 1,191 and 52 dependents.

Upon arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, the repatriates received financial and livelihood assistance from the DMW, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration as well as the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

The returning OFWs also received educational vouchers from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.

The DMW’s National Reintegration Center for OFWs offers livelihood programs and assistance in employment opportunities.

Some of the repatriates availed themselves of free medical checkups and medicines offered by the New NAIA Infra Corp.

Free psychosocial services are also available to those who have suffered trauma as a result of the conflict in Lebanon and those who were abused by their employers.
