Caloocan allots funds for teachers' extra pay

CALOOCAN Mayor Dave Gonzalo Malapitan said on Tuesday that the local government has allocated funds for the P2,000 monthly augmentation pay for the city's public school teachers.

«Our beloved public school teachers have reasons to celebrate this New Year because they will now be receiving the P2,000 monthly augmentation pay that I promised during my city address late last year,» Malapitan said.

He also thanked city council members, led by its presiding officer Vice Mayor Karina Teh, for their support for his programs focusing on the local education sector, especially for students, teachers and nonteaching personnel.

Malapitan told The Manila Times via Viber that the monthly augmentation pay would serve as an extra allowance for the city's public school teachers.
