Colonel found dead at AFP camp

MANILA, Philippines — A senior military officer was found dead in his quarters at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City, the Armed Forces of the Philippines said yesterday.

AFP spokesperson Col. Francel Margareth Padilla confirmed that Col. Rolando Escalona Jr., who served in the Judge Advocate General’s Service, was found lifeless on Friday.

“The AFP, in coordination with the Philippine National Police’s scene of the crime operatives, is conducting a probe to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident,” Padilla said.

No other details were provided on the death of Escalona
