DOT's tourist hotline adds Korean-speaking agents
MANILA, Philippines — Starting February, tourists can seek assistance from Korean-speaking agents through the Department of Tourism's (DOT) upgraded Tourist Assistance Call Center (TACC).
On Monday, the DOT said that the recent upgrade of the tourist hotline to include Korean-language assistance reinforces the department's commitment to improve the service for visitors from South Korea, the country's largest source of tourists.
Travelers may now get direct help from a professional Korean-speaking representative who is accessible Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Philippine Standard Time).
«As South Korea continues to be our top inbound market, this initiative ensures that Korean travelers can easily access assistance, allowing them to fully enjoy the warmth, hospitality, and attractions that make the Philippines a destination to love,» Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco said.
«The DOT is dedicated to improving its platforms to deliver accessible, efficient, and world-class service to all tourists, both domestic and international,» she added.
This development is in line with the government's overarching objective of digitizing public services, building a streamlined, responsive, and technologically driven approach to tourist assistance.
The TACC, a flagship program of the DOT, has been recognized as one of Asia's premier customer support platforms, having recently received the «Best in Customer-Service Support (Regional Level)» award at the prestigious Asia Best of Best Awards 2024 at the Westin Dubai, Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina in Dubai, UAE.
AdvertisementAlso, the DOT seeks to extend multilingual assistance services, including Mandarin and other languages to a wider range of travelers.
The agency highlights its new mobile hotline, +63954-253-3215, which ensures a more effective communication channel for tourists.
Landline users can also contact the assistance desk at 151-TOUR (151-8687), and inquiries can be forwarded by email to [email protected].
For real-time support, tourists can contact through Facebook Messenger at Department of Tourism-Philippines or use the Click2Call and Live Webchat services accessible at beta.tourism.gov.ph.
