Laguindingan airport worker commended for honesty
MANILA, Philippines — An employee of the Laguindingan Airport in Misamis Oriental has been commended for returning a bag left by a passenger.
The bag, which reportedly contained P59,684 in cash, personal belongings and documents was found by ground maintenance unit worker Nader Talib at the arrival area.
Bea Bernardo, information officer of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), said Talib was conducting a routine inspection in the area when he spotted the unattended bag.
Talib immediately reported the matter to the CAAP service and intelligence unit, which coordinated with the airport’s security unit.
After conducting a thorough inspection, authorities confirmed that the bag contained cash and documents. They traced the owner of the bag who turned out to be among passengers of a flight from Manila.
