Magnitude 4.7 rattles Zamboanga del Sur
MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.7 shook the province of Zamboanga del Sur Wednesday afternoon, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
The tremor happened around 12:37 p.m. some 12 kilometers (kms) southeast of San Pablo town, also in the same province, Phivolcs said.
Tectonic in origin, the quake has a depth of focus of 6 kms, the agency said in its earthquake information issued at 1:44 p.m.
It said that Intensity 4 waa felt by residents in San Pablo, Tabina, and Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur and Intensity 3 in Salug, Zamboanga del Norte.
Intensity 2 was felt in Leon Postigo, Zamboanga del Sur; Buug, Imelda, and Diplahan, Zamboanga Sibugay; and Tubod, Lanao del Norte. Intensity 1 was recorded in Zamboanga City; Sergio Osmeña, Siocon, Tampilisan, Sibuco, and Baliguian, Zamboanga del Norte; and Olutanga, Zamboanga Sibugay.
Instrumental Intensity 3 was recorded in Molave, Zamboanga del Sur; and Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte; Intensity 2 in Zamboanga City and
Intensity 1 in Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte.
