Makati referrals to companies yield 14,000 new hires
MANILA, Philippines — Over 14,000 jobseekers referred by the Makati government to private companies were hired last year, Mayor Abby Binay announced on Monday.
Makati posted a hiring rate of 92 percent after 14,710 out of 15,967 applicants were hired by private employers through the Job Referral and Placement Program, an initiative of the city’s Public Employment Service Office.
“The program’s success underscores the city’s commitment to address unemployment and support residents and non-residents in finding jobs,” Binay said in a statement.
“Through innovative programs and partnerships, we aim to provide more job opportunities. The success of our job placement program highlights the positive and lasting impact of partnerships between the city government and the private sector,” she added.
The city organized two mega job fairs in 2024 for unemployed residents and non-residents, held in June and October at the Ayala Malls Circuit Makati.
