Pasig City bumandera sa BP medal tally | Pilipino Star Ngayon

PUERTO PRINCESA — Nagsimula nang lumayo ang Pasig City sa overall medal tally sa 16th Batang Pinoy National Cham­pionships kahapon dito sa Ramon V. Mitra Jr. Sports Complex.

Humakot ang mga Pasig City athletes ng 36 gold, 19 silver at 30 bronze medals para iwanan ang Quezon City (19-17-25), four-time champions Baguio City (18-22-21), Santa Rosa City (14-11-4), Davao City (13-10-7) at Muntinlupa City (12-5-6).

Nanguna sa arangkada ng mga Pasigueno si gymnast Haylee Garcia na humakot ng limang gintong medalya sa FIG Senior Women’s Artistic Gymnastics.

Nagdomina ang 16-an­yos na si Garcia, nakabase sa Arizona, USA, sa indivi_dual all-around (46.9 points), balance beam (11.85), floor exercise (12.6), uneven bars (10.9) at vault (11.775).

Tatlong ginto ang ambag ni swimmer Arvin Naeem Taguinota II mula sa boys’ 12-13 200 LC backstroke, 200 LC Meter IM at 100 LC Meter freestyle.

Nakahugot din ang Pasig City ng mga golds kina archers Mariano Matteo Medina at Giuliana Vernice Garcia at Princess Khyra Ramirez.

Sa swimming, bumasag ng Batang Pinoy record si Albert Jose Amaro II ng Naga City sa boys’ 16-17 50m freestyle sa kanyang bagong marka na 24.32 para burahin ang sa­riling 2023 mark na 24.53.
