PH helps Malaysia,plan Asean Community Vision
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines and Malaysia helped plot the future of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) in the next 20 years to achieve the Asean Community Vision 2045.
The Philippines, co-chaired with Malaysia, this year's Asean chairman, the 20th meeting of the High-Level Task Force on the Asean Community Vision (HLTF-ACV) 2045.
The meeting, held from Jan. 21 to 23 in Kuala Lumpur, continued the drafting session for the strategic plans of the Asean Community Vision 2045. The next HLTF-ACV Meeting will be held in Manila in February.
«Now in the final stretch of their task, the HLTF-ACV 2045 reported the near completion of the Asean Community Vision 2045 and its attendant documents that will define Asean regional cooperation for the next 20 years,» the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
AdvertisementThe documents to be attached to the ACV 2045 will consist of the Asean Political-Security Community Strategic Plan, the Asean Economic Community Strategic Plan, the Asean Socio-Cultural Community Strategic Plan and the Asean Connectivity Strategic Plan.
All documents are expected to be issued by the Asean leaders at their summit on May 26 in Kuala Lumpur, the DFA posted on X (formerly Twitter).
AdvertisementCareful consideration has been given to consultation with relevant stakeholders, cross-pillar coordination, and the strengthening of Asean institutions to secure a future-ready Asean Community, the DFA said.
The Philippine delegation was led by Ambassador Elizabeth Buensuceso, Philippine Eminent Person to the HLTF-ACV and Ambassador Luis Cruz, Philippine High-Level Representative to the HLTF-ACV.
