Press Release - Ejercito: Statement on PBBM's directives to ensure funding for priority projects
We fully support President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive to prioritize funding for key projects which were identified critical to our country's social and economic transformation.
These projects align with our advocacy, particularly in infrastructure--such as railways and airports--and universal healthcare. These have been long-standing dreams for the nation, as they promise to create jobs and opportunities, and improve the quality of life for our people.
On our part, we made sure that foreign-assisted priority projects, particularly railway projects, were provided funding in the Senate budget version, and that the GOP portion or the government participation was included in the programmed funds. This is to ensure the continuous implementation of these projects without delays.
We also welcome NEDA Secretary Arsenio Balisacan's assurance that these projects will be funded without new taxes, which demonstrates our fiscal prudence while addressing the urgent needs of our people.
Rest assured that we are committed to continue working with the Marcos administration to see these priority projects through.
