Rufa Mae freed on bail

MANILA, Philippines — After posting bail of P1.7 million, actress Rufa Mae Quinto was released from the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) yesterday.

Quinto is facing 14 counts of fraud filed by investors of a skincare company.

The Pasay City Regional Trial Court Branch 111 ordered Quinto’s release after she posted bail.

Accompanied by NBI personnel, Quinto appeared before the court and pleaded not guilty to charges of violating the Securities Regulation Code.

She surrendered to the NBI after returning from the United States on Wednesday.
