Taguinota, Garra nilangoy ang tig-3 golds sa Batang Pinoy | Pang-Masa

PUERTO PRINCESA, Philippines — Kapwa nilangoy nina Arvin Naeem Taguinota II ng Pasig City at Sophia Rose Garra ng Malabon ang kanilang ikatlong gold medal sa swimming event ng 16th Batang Pinoy National Championships kahapon dito sa Ramon V. Mitra Jr. Sports Complex.

Inangkin ng 13-anyos na si Taguinota ang ginto sa boys’ 12-13 200 LC backstroke sa bilis na 2:19.88 para ungusan sina Behrouz Mohammad  Mojdeh (2:24.49) ng Parañaque City at Titus Rafael Sia (2:26.24) ng San Juan City.

Idinagdag ito ng estudyante ng British International School sa nauna niyang panalo sa 200 LC Meter IM (2:22.02) at sa 100 LC Meter freestyle (57.92).

“We’re just trying to do our best during this meet,” ani Olympian Jessie Lacuna, ang coach ni Taguinot. “It’s more of our performance na lang talaga and then sobrang bonus na lang if we win the medal.”

Nakatakda pang lumangoy ang Pasig City tanker sa 100m butterfly, 100m backstroke, 4x50m freestyle at 4x50m medley.

Wagi naman ang 12-anyos na si Garra sa girls’ 12-13 200 LC Meter IM 200 LC backstroke sa kanyang oras na 2:30.00 para talunin sina Anika Kathryn Mati-ling (2:38.82) ng Bacolod City at Angela Tane Perez (2:44.45) ng Kidapawan City.
