Rachel Weisz's painful legacy of doing Bourne stunts
Rachel Weisz has revealed that she became a true action hero for the new Bourne spy movie — in a challenge that forced her well out of her comfort zone. The London-born star carries out nearly all her own stunts in The Bourne Legacy, which expands the Bourne world to reveal Edward Norton as a manipulative intelligence chief and Jeremy Renner, from The Hurt Locker, as an agent in peril.Weisz, 42, who plays a research scientist, said “99 per cent of the time” she and Renner are performing for real in the high-speed chases and crashes shot in locations including Canada, South Korea and the Philippines.“The stunts were the challenge. There are a lot in the film,” said the Oscar-winning actress who is married to another action hero in Daniel Craig — James Bond.“In Manila, we have this huge chase scene on a motorcycle and Jeremy and I did most of it. We drove through that city and jumped over bridges and crashed into buses.
