Uniqlo Philippines launches embroidery service

MANILA, Philippines — To further reinforce its commitment to sustainability and clothing circularity, Uniqlo launched an embroidery service at its Re. Uniqlo Studio at the Manila Flagship Store in Glorietta 5, Makati.

This also marks the first anniversary of the studio, which mostly offered simple, practical on-site repairs during its start.

With this latest service, the global apparel retailer allows you to adorn your favorite LifeWear items with a personal touch, as you can customize your style with more than 80 design selections that complement text and fonts. The embroidery options include pets, flowers, food, seasonal themes, and can also be used to cover up small to medium holes, extending the life of your LifeWear pieces.

The Japanese label is tying up with sustainable fashion community, Basically Borrowed, for a fashion swap party, where customers can bring in old and unused LifeWear pieces that they can exchange with other participants.

Basically Borrowed’s mission is “to create an infinite closet for everyone by re-circulating fashion as efficiently as possible,” said Jessie Jiang, who pushes for mainstreaming sustainable fashion. “Re.Uniqlo’s initiatives are commendable. It’s inspiring to see a brand so dedicated to making a positive impact on both the environment and our communities.”

Reichelle Vergara, the head of PR and Sustainability, further explained the initiative: “A lot of us, I think, will enjoy this embroidery service. I know I did. I enjoyed putting embroidery designs in my polo today. This is part of our overall Re.Uniqlo initiative. I want to also share with you and introduce the three main pillars of our Re.Uniqlo.

“First of all, it's Reuse. We are proud of the quality of our Re.Uniqlo items. As you know, our Re.Uniqlo items really last long.

“And a lot of you brought Re. Uuniqlo items and they're all in mint condition till now. So, we really want also that type of personality or characteristic of our clothes to be worn also by, you know, those communities that really need it. So, in all our stores, actually, you'll find a Re.Uniqlo box.

“And you can donate, actually, if there are items that maybe it's not already your style or your
