IRR for internet infra construction out
(UPDATE) THE government has issued the implementing rules and regulations (IRR) for the streamlining process for the construction of telecommunications and internet infrastructure in the country, Malacañang said. Executive Order (EO) 32, issued by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on July 4, institutionalizes a set of streamlined guidelines for the issuance of permits, licenses, and certificates for the construction of telecommunications and internet infrastructure, including those relating to the installation, repair, operation, and maintenance of such facilities. The EO also mandated the creation of a technical working group composed of the Department of Information and Communications Technology, Anti-Red Tape Authority, National Telecommunications Commission, Department of Public Works and Highways, and Department of the Interior and Local Government to formulate the necessary rules and regulations within 60 days. Under the IRR, a unified application form will be adopted, and preformatted form building permit applications shall be prescribed in all cities and municipalities.
