KAHIT tinaasan na ang sahod ng mga pulis, patuloy pa rin silang nagsa-sideline bilang bodyguard o security escort ng mga mayayamang tao o very important persons (VIPs). Ngayon pati ang pag-eeskort sa mga Chinese na opisyal ng Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) ay pinasok na rin. Malaki ang kinikita ng mga pulis na nag-eeskort sa POGO official na umaabot umano sa P40,000 buwan-buwan. Noong nakaraang buwan, dalawang miyembro ng Special Action Force (SAF) ang sinibak sa puwesto dahil sa pag-eskort sa Chinese na opisyal ng POGO na nakatira sa Ayala-Alabang. Ang dalawang SAF ay nakadestino sa Mindanao pero narito sa Metro Manila at binantayan ang Chinese. Sinibak din ang siyam na superiors ng dalawang SAF troopers.
