2 hurt as truck hits Bulacan post

MALOLOS, Philippines —A truck driver and his helper were injured when their vehicle crashed into a post of a boundary arch between this city and Guiguinto town yesterday.

Ronald Atayde reportedly fell asleep while driving, according to Col. Really Arnedo, Bulacan police chief.

Atayde and his helper, Roy Atayde, were taken to the Bulacan Medical Center by members of the Malolos Rescue Group.

They were transferred to the Paolino J. Garcia Hospital in Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija for treatment.

Investigation showed the truck was traveling along MacArthur Highway when it figured in the accident at around 4:50 a.m.
