(2024.01.26) Focused Group Discussions (FGD) on Single-use Plastic Bags Tax

The Presidential Legislative Liaison Office (PLLO) conducted a Focused Group Discussion (FGD) on the Proposed Excise Tax on Single-Use Plastics at the Novotel Manila Araneta City, Quezon City, 26 January 2024.

Under the proposed bill, an excise tax of P100 would be imposed on every kilogram of single-use plastic removed from production or released from the custody of the Bureau of Customs.

During the second State of the Nation Address of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. he specifically said he wants to impose excise tax on single-use plastics. It is one of the tax reforms which he urged Congress to support.
