8 Chinese, 7 Malaysians trying to sneak into the country intercepted
THE Bureau of Immigration yesterday said that government agents intercepted 15 foreigners who tried to illegally enter the country’s backdoor aboard two speedboats last Sunday.
BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco said joint operatives of the Maritime Industry Authority, Philippine Navy, and Philippine Army were conducting a routine maritime patrol in the waters of Sitangkai, Taiw-Tawi when they sighted eight Chinese and seven Malaysians trying to sneak into the country.
He said that an initial verification in the BI’s central database showed the foreigners have no records of entering the country.
Tansingco said they are preparing deportation proceedings and blacklisting the 15 believed to be entering the country to work illegally.
