‘Alyansa’ Senate slate not official, says Lakas-CMD

MANILA, Philippines — The purported lineup of senatorial candidates for the 2025 polls of the administration-led Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas coalition circulating in both mainstream and social media is “not official,” according to a leader of the House of Representatives and the ruling Lakas-CMD party.

“We have noted with interest the recent reports regarding the senatorial lineup of the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas. As Governor Reynaldo Tamayo Jr., national president of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, already clarified, the administration has not yet finalized its senatorial lineup,” House Majority Floor Leader Manuel Jose Dalipe, who sits as executive vice president of Lakas-CMD, said yesterday.

He said reports on the supposed 12-member slate were very much speculative as the vetting process was still at an early stage.

The Zamboanga City congressman insisted that all parties under the coalition, which includes the Nacionalista Party, Nationalist People’s Coalition and National Unity Party, have until Sept.15 to submit their respective lists of senatorial nominees.

“It is important to emphasize that any list circulating at this point is not official and should be regarded as speculative,” Dalipe emphasized.

“Following the submission deadline, party leaders will carefully evaluate the nominations and engage in thorough deliberations to finalize the Alyansa’s senatorial lineup,” Dalipe said.

“This collective decision-making process ensures that we present the strongest and most capable candidates to the electorate, fully aligned with our shared vision for the country,” he added.

“We urge everyone to remain patient and allow the process to unfold. Rest assured, the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas is committed to selecting candidates who embody our vision for a better future for all Filipinos,” he said.
