Another pack of shabu worth P6.7M recovered off Ilocos Sur

THE PNP Regional Office 1 yesterday reported the recovery of another pack of shabu worth P6.7 million off the coast of Barangay Daclapan in Cabugao, Ilocos Sur.

The PRO-1 said the pack of shabu weighing 997.51 grams was recovered by two fishermen last Saturday night.

“Initial tests conducted by the Provincial Forensic Unit of Ilocos Sur confirmed the substances as shabu, with a total net weight of 997.51 grams and standard drug price of P6,783,068.00,” said the PRO-1 in a statement.

The PNP regional office said the two fishermen fishing in the area discovered a floating transparent aqua-blue plastic pack.

They brought it ashore and immediately reported their find to the Cabugao Police Station.

“We commend the swift action and support of these fishermen, who reported and turned over the illegal substance,” said PRO-1 Director Brig. Gen. Lou Evangelista.
