Arroyo joins Romualdez in Bagong Pilipinas Fair in Davao del Norte
TAGUM, Davao del Norte — Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo joined Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez and 166 lawmakers at the 19th Bagong Pilipinas Service Fair at the sports complex here on Friday.
Romualdez greeted Arroyo, who was flanked by Davao del Norte Rep. Alan Dujali, Davao del Norte Acting Governor De Carlo Uy and Tagum City Mayor Rey Uy.
The service fair, the eighth in Mindanao, has 250,000 beneficiaries from the province who will be receiving a total of P913 million in cash and rice aid and services ranging from educational and livelihood assistance.
In his speech, Romualdez cited unity among the country's leaders to advance the interest of the people.
He also stressed that the government continued to find ways to alleviate the condition of Filipinos.
«Sinisikap ng administrasyong Marcos na iahon ang ating bansa sa kahirapan at sabay-sabay na aangat ang lahat, (The Marcos administration is trying its best to get our country out of poverty and improve the lives of every Filipino),» Romualdez said.
