Artera rules Badbeat Season 3 | The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — The Artera team upended Fernandez Optical, 88-78, to bag the championship crown of Badbeat Basketball League Season 3 at the Sacred Heart Sports Center along D. Jakosalem Street in Cebu City.

James Martin claimed the Finals MVP trophy after topscoring for Artera with 15 points.

Martin drew huge support from Paul Sungahid and Jeff Michael Gudes who combined for 25 points.

Artera trailed by two points, 19-21, after the first period, but rallied back with finesse to seize control at halftime, 38-37, for good.

Artera of coach Peter Rex Jumuad dominated Fernandez Optical in the final half on the way to secure a double-digit victory.

Albert Ardiente led Fernandez Optical with 14 points while Gio Antigua and Joemarie Beloro tallied 13 markers each in a losing cause. — (FREEMAN)
