Bea Alonzo clarifies breakup with Dominic Roque, again

MANILA, Philippines — Kapuso actress Bea Alonzo addressed conflicting statements regarding her breakup with actor Dominic Roque during Thursday's episode of «Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.»

Abunda opened the conversation with, «This is the interview that people thought would never happen.»

The host then asked Alonzo for consent to hug her.

«Tito Boy, you do not ask for permission for a hug (Tito Boy, ang hug, hindi na ipinagpapaalam),» Alonzo said.

It was the first time the two sat down for an interview months after Abunda confirmed on February 6 a report by comedian-host Ogie Diaz that Alonzo and Roque had indeed broken up before they officially announced their separation.

This led the former couple to publicize their split while expressing frustration toward those who revealed their breakup without consent, a sentiment netizens attributed to Abunda.

«Unfortunately, some even confirmed our breakup without our consent, and some created ridiculous stories that had no basis and were utterly false, so we felt the need to share this announcement with great sadness, for our peace of mind and our families,» the couple said on February 11.

During their conversation on Thursday, Abunda asked Alonzo a question about her contradictory statements about their breakup.

Previously, Alonzo said in an interview on June 13 that she was not the one who initiated the breakup.

Abunda asked Alonzo, «How do you connect the two, just to clarify? » Alonzo said, «During the time I did Tatler, that was, like, a month ago. Because before they can release an issue, it usually takes a month or even more; I don't remember exactly when that was, but it was quite some time ago. So, that was the only time I talked about it because I was asked. I don't know, I kind of talked about it there.»

«And then, during the 24 Oras interview, I didn't have the intention to talk about it because I really wanted to respect the relationship that was. But then, Nelson made a comment. Before his comment, we were talking about fake news and all that. I felt so comfortable talking to him, as if there was no camera in front of us. And then he went, like, 'Of course, you were the one who broke up. They don't
