Beijing cannot enforce its law in high seas – DFA

CHINA cannot enforce its domestic law in another state and cannot detain «trespassers» in the South China Sea (SCS) that are also claimed by the Philippines, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Sunday.

«Every sovereign state has the right to formulate and enact laws, including the enforcement of domestic legislation within its jurisdiction,» the DFA said in a statement.
