Bong Go aids Tondo fire victims
MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bong Go on Tuesday distributed assistance to 2,006 families affected by a fire that struck Barangay 105 in Tondo, Manila.
The fire victims received grocery packs, water containers, snacks, vitamins, masks, shirts, basketballs and volleyballs. Shoes, mobile phones, bicycles and a watch were given to select recipients.
Sen. Francis Tolentino also distributed aid to the affected residents.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Go said, is undergoing a 10-year modernization program to enhance its response to fire incidents.
Go is the primary author and co-sponsor of the BFP Modernization Act of 2021.
Go advised residents who need medical assistance to go to Malasakit Centers at the Tondo Medical Hospital, Philippine General Hospital, Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital, Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center and San Lazaro Hospital.
