Calabarzon wage board sets timetable for new wage order

IN the next few days, the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) – Region IV-A is expected to issue its latest wage order in time for the anniversary of its Wage Order No. IVA-20.

In a social media post, the Calabarzon wage board said it is looking to issue the latest wage order that will set the new minimum wage rate in the region in accordance with the Omnibus Rules on Minimum Wage Determination.

“Following the public hearing, the Board must decide whether to issue a wage order or decide whether to address the merits of the petitions for wage increases within 30 days of the last public hearing date,” said the Calabarzon wage board.

It noted that the final regional public hearing on minimum wage adjustment in the region took place last August 20 in San Pablo City, Laguna.

An estimated 170 individuals representing different organizations, union groups, interest groups, and stakeholders attended the public hearing.

“The event engaged the public in a discussion on wages and income as well as other wage-related matters by accepting and considering information and statements in order to sift through requests for salary increases,” said RTWPB-IVA.

It was back on September 24, 2023 when the last wage order in Calabarzon took effect. The Wage Order No. IVA-20 brought the minimum wage rate in the region between P385 to P520.
