Cavite fire victims get aid from Go

CAVITE CITY — Sen. Bong Go led the distribution of financial assistance to the 747 families affected by a recent fire from Barangay 5 and 7 at the Montano Hall Stadium here on Monday.

Cavite City Mayor Denver Chua and other local officials welcomed the senator from Davao as the huge crowd also cheered for his arrival.

The recipients of the senator's assistance are families whose homes were lost or damaged in a massive fire in Sitio Badjao on July 14, 2024.

Each family received P20,000 each pesos from the senator.

Go also distributed groceries to each family as well as bicycles to selected individuals.

The senator also reiterated his call for heightened fire safety measures in the country.

Go said the government is committed to strengthening the Bureau of Fire Protection even as he highlighted the ongoing modernization efforts under Republic Act 11589, which he principally authored and co-sponsored, to address fire incidents and their impact across the Philippines.
