Complaints filed vs 6 in San Juan festival

SIX people are facing various complaints over incidents during San Juan City's Wattah Wattah Festival last June 24.

San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora said the six individuals were arrested for allegedly causing inconvenience to passersby during the festival.

One of them allegedly threw muriatic acid at passing people, and was arrested on the spot, Zamora said.

During the festival in honor of the city's patron saint, John the Baptist, people are traditionally doused with water. In recent years, the dousing sometimes got out of hand, and triggered altercations.

Zamora said he personally accompanied one of the victims in filing a complaint before the Prosecutor's Office.

Among the complaints filed were unjust vexation, malicious mischief and slander.
