Customs bureau orders probe of 'vape recycling'
THE Bureau of Customs (BoC) on Tuesday ordered an investigation into the alleged recycling and resale of seized vape products.
Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio has directed the Intelligence Group under Deputy Commissioner Juvymax Uy to initiate a comprehensive fact-finding investigation on these items which were recently confiscated and reportedly placed under a «safekeeping order» via a Mission Order.
The amount of the vapes is still being verified.

The investigation will assess any potential administrative and criminal liabilities associated with these claims.
The Intelligence Group has been instructed to submit weekly status reports and a detailed fact-finding report within 30 days.
AdvertisementMeanwhile, Rubio assured the public that the counterfeit goods worth P11 billion, which were recently seized in Binondo, Manila, are secured.
He said the goods will undergo the appropriate seizure and forfeiture procedures, in accordance with the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act, and other relevant regulations.
