DAR distributes 137,000 land titles to 140,000 ARBs during 2-year PBBM administration

Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado M. Estrella III announced that the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) had distributed a total of 137,000 land titles to more than 140,000 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) covering 161,000 hectares of agricultural lands during the two-year term of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

“For the first 6 months of 2024 alone, we have distributed 42,000 land titles, and we will try to distribute 100,00 land titles by the end of 2024,” Estrella said.

In addition to land distribution, the DAR also provided support services which include 219 farm-to-market (FMRs) worth P2.3 billion totaling 151 kilometers nationwide. At present, there are 89 ongoing constructions of FMRs comprising 135 kilometers worth P2.1 billion.

The DAR also completed 116 irrigation projects covering 3,800 hectares nationwide worth P1.3 billion. At present 17 irrigation projects are ongoing covering 1,000 hectares worth P284.6 million.

Estrella noted that the DAR has provided 5,451 units of farm machineries and equipment (FMEs) for the use of 1,450 agrarian reform beneficiaries organizations (ARBOs) nationwide worth P262 million.

Estrella said that the DAR is planning to add to the provision of support services, storage facilities, tissue culture facilities, and greenhouses to help the ARBs in the storage and propagation of their crops.

He said that these accomplishments underscore the present administration’s commitment to agrarian reform and rural development, by ensuring land ownership and provision of support services to empower farmers and foster sustainable agricultural practices in the country.

Estrella noted that the DAR was cited by the President’s 8888 Complaint Center and Civil Service Commission for its 100% Outstanding Action, Performance and Resolution for referred transactions from the public in 2023.
