DAR empowers Sultan Kudarat farmers

The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Sultan Kudarat has provided more than P500,000 worth of support initiatives to the agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) of the Lay Minister Farmers Consumers Cooperative (LAMFACCO) in Barangay Poblacion, Senator Ninoy Aquino, Sultan Kudarat.

These initiatives, which are part of the DAR’s Village Level Farm-focused Enterprise Development Project, consist of training materials on Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices for Coffee, worth Php 42,000.00, and a renovated processing facility worth Php 498,513.00, aims to improve the livelihoods of ARBs.

Chief Agrarian Reform Program Officer Rhea Marie P Betque said this is DAR’s commitment to assist LAMFACCO in sustaining their livelihood by providing competitive ARBs’ products in the market and offering capacity-building training to enhance their skills and broadening their knowledge in farming and marketing their products.

“The said project aims to enhance rural enterprise development and provide more responsive and focused interventions to ARBs and ARB organizations,” she said.

Arnold O. Abayon, Chairman of LAMFAMCCO, expressed his sincerest gratitude to the DAR for their continuous support and assistance.

“Thank you to the DAR for the never-ending support and assistance. This support will help our organization improve. Be assured that we will do our best to make our organization prosper and be progressive,” he said.

Abayon added that this is DAR’s testament to their ongoing efforts to support and develop rural enterprises, ensuring that farmers receive the necessary initiatives to thrive in their agricultural endeavors.
