DAR IX Conducts Training on Digital Certificate Usage for Officials and Staff

The Department of Agrarian Reform IX (DAR IX) conducted a training session to orient its regional and provincial officials and selected staff on the effective use of digital certificates on July 16 at the Garden Orchid Hotel, Zamboanga City. The goal was to enhance business processes and service delivery through the use of digital certificates. The orientation aimed to empower participants with the required skills and knowledge to use digital certificates effectively.

Regional Director Ramon Madroñal, Jr. led the regional participants along with Assistant Directors Engr. Agnes Maata, Atty. Marcelino Marata, and Regional Adjudicator Atty. Jessica Agagon. Meanwhile, provincial participants who joined the session online via Zoom were also led by their Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officers II (PARPOs II) Rizzel Villanueva, Engr. Jena Salaug and Rolando Libetario, Jr. for Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga Sibugay, respectively.

Director Madroñal expressed gratitude to the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) for providing three personnel who are IT experts as resource persons. He highlighted the importance of digitizing government transactions and anticipated that embracing this technology would expedite transaction processes, ultimately improving service efficiency for agrarian reform beneficiaries and stakeholders.

The team from DICT was led by Information Technology Officer II (ITO II) Juanito Calingacion, Jr. along with Planning Officers Reginald Enriquez and Rezvani Ibra of the Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure (PNPKI) Team.

Participants showed enthusiasm and eagerness to learn how to utilize digital certificates to reduce the hassle and cost of office supplies.

During the closing ceremony, Assistant Regional Director Marcelino Marata emphasized that all the knowledge gained from the training aimed to enhance the department's service delivery.
