DAR Region 02 joins 2022 Women’s Month Celebration

Consistent with its unwavering adherence to uphold women’s rights and gender equality, the Department of Agrarian Reform Region 02 joins in the celebration of the National Women’s Month, with the multi-year theme “We Make Change Work for Women,” and this year’s sub-theme “Agenda ng Kababaihan, Tungo sa Kaunlaran”.

According to the Philippine Commission on Women, NWMC is a celebration that endeavors to highlight the gains achieved for women and girls, assess actions towards gender equality, and look forward to steps that must be taken to ensure progress in empowering women.

To commemorate this event, the Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) of the Regional and Provincial levels has organized different activities not just for its personnel but also for its clients such as seminars/trainings on RA 9710 or the Magna Carta of Women, Gender Sensitivity in the Workplace, Gender Awareness, Use of Gender Fair Language, Training on Meat and Fish and fitness and wellness programs.

Likewise, the wearing of purple T-shirt every Tuesday of the month and display of the campaign’s official banner were implemented signifying support in the celebration of the National Women’s Month.

DAR Region 02 remains committed to mainstream Gender and Development concerns in all of its programs and activities. These lined-up events aim to provide a way for the DAR Region 02 personnel to stay committed in doing actions that help promote a more gender-responsive workplace environment.
