DAR showcases Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries' Products Through Agraryo Trade Fair

Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) who are members of ARB Organizations (ARBOs) will conduct a four-day Agraryo Trade Fair from October 15 to 18, 2024 at the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Central Office to celebrate the International Rural Women’s Day and Rural Women’s Month.

The Fair with the theme, “Kababaihan sa Kanayunan: Kabalikat sa Repormang Agraryo para sa Maunlad at Matatag na Bagong Pilipinas,” will present colorful booths showcasing various food and non-food products representing the fifteen (15) regions of the DAR to serve as a platform for wider exposure of their products to potential customers and buyers.

Aside from showcasing the best ARB/ARBO products nationwide, the event will also provide opportunities to establish networks for entrepreneurial partnerships with other ARBs, ARBOs, and private sector enterprises.

The ATF is spearheaded by the Bureau of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Development (BARBD) under the Office of the DAR Undersecretary for Support Services Rowena Niña Taduran.

“We are hoping that the Agraryo Trade Fair will strengthen the entrepreneurial spirit among the ARBs especially the women, as well as generate a positive public perception of ARB products," she added.

Taduran said that ARBs are continually being assisted by the DAR to strengthen their farming and selling capabilities to maintain their planting, harvesting, and product creation businesses.

The event is also in support of the gender and development (GAD) goals of the DAR ensuring that gender-related initiatives are mainstreamed in the plans and programs of the Department for all ARBs and ARB organizations nationwide.

The opening ceremonies of the Agraryo Trade Fair will be held on October 15, 2024, at the DAR Central Office in Quezon City with Mayor Joy Belmonte of Quezon City, DITO Telecommunication Chief Revenue Officer Atty. Adel Tamano, Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) Executive Director Atty. Khay Ann C. Magundayao-Borlado as special guests.
