Diokno joins ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of the Philippine Pavilion at COP28

DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES––Commencing the participation of the Philippines in the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28), Finance Secretary Benjamin E. Diokno joined the country’s delegation in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of the Philippine Pavilion at the Al Wasl Area in Expo City, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The Philippine Pavilion showcases the nation’s best practices, solutions, and actions when it comes to addressing the impacts of climate change. Several events on the Philippines’ climate action journey will be hosted in this site.

The Philippine delegation to the COP 28 is led by Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Ma. Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga.

Present during the opening of the Philippine Pavilion were Philippine Ambassador to the UAE Alfonso Ferdinand A. Ver, UAE Ambassador to the Philippines Mohamed Obaid Al-Qattam, Special Assistant to the President Antonio Ernesto Floirendo Lagdameo Jr., Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Teodoro Herbosa, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Alfredo E. Pascual, Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Secretary Renato U. Solidum, Pangasinan Second District Representative Mark O. Cojuangco, and Quirino Governor and Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP) President Dakila Carlo E. Cua.
