'Dios mio!': Julie Anne San Jose on Maria Clara's reaction to being a calendar girl
MANILA, Philippines — Singer-actress Julie Anne San Jose was recently unveiled as the 2025 Calendar Girl for beverage company Ginebra San Miguel.
The announcement comes several months after the Limitless Star wrapped up her stint on the television show "Maria Clara at Ibarra" where she portrayed the famous Rizal character Maria Clara.
Julie Anne told members of the media including Philstar.com after she was officially launched as a calendar girl that Maria Clara would probably exclaim "Dios mio!" if she heard the news and be surprised by the "total 360 change."
"Coming from Maria Clara to being a calendar girl... para siyang totally different roles," Julie Anne said which plays to her strengths wanting to innovate, improve, and take on different characters.
She added that being a calendar girl, in her own little way, will allow her to reach out to other people and change their lives.
Later on, Julie Anne said being sexy isn't limited to one's body, "Nasa karakter ng tao, paano siya mag-inspire ng tao, at base sa kanyang kakayahan."
Julie Anne joins a historic roster of Ginebra San Miguel Calendar Girls which include Marian Rivera (twice), Angelica Panganiban, Anne Curtis, Solenn Heussaff, Georgina Wilson, Ellen Adarna, Pia Wurtzbach, Sanya Lopez, Chie Filomeno, Yassi Pressman, and most recently, Heaven Peralejo.
