DMW sets requirement for Kuwait-bound workers

THE Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has set requirements for Filipinos aspiring to work in Kuwait.

In Memorandum Circular No. 02-2024, the DMW set three requirements.

The agency said applicants must have employment records in the DMW database to show proof that the worker has been duly documented.

They must also be registered member of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).

Third, they must have no welfare record or have not been admitted to the care of the Migrant Workers Resource Center (MWRC) as certified by the concerned Migrant Workers Office (MWO).

Last June, the DMW announced the reopening of the Kuwait market for overseas Filipino workers. This came more than a year after the host government indefinitely suspended visa issuance to Filipino workers in May 2023.

Allowed to be redeployed to Kuwait are professional and skilled workers as well as domestic workers with prior experience working overseas.
