DOLE partners with Megaworld for job fairs

MANILA, Philippines — To find employment, jobseekers nationwide may just need to go to the mall.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) recently forged a partnership with Megaworld for the job fairs.

“We are optimistic that the DOLE-Megaworld partnership will serve as a valuable mechanism in expanding our existing network, where private partners extend their resources toward employment facilitation services to achieve the administration’s agenda under the leadership of President Marcos,” Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma said.

Laguesma said the collaboration is expected to have a substantial impact, particularly among first-time job applicants, who can access other employment services such as counseling and pre-employment documentation during the job fairs.

Megaworld Lifestyle malls are the official venues for the job fairs as well as other DOLE-initiated activities under a rent-free arrangement.

Megaworld assistant vice president Michael Lao said the collaboration with DOLE aligns with the company’s commitment in supporting the government.

Lao said Megaworld has committed to waive rent and utility charges during the job fairs and to assist in marketing the events through the free use of standees, billboards, online announcements and traditional media.

ln using the premises provided exclusively for the job fairs, the DOLE should abide by the mall’s safety and security regulations.

Among the Megaworld Lifestyle Malls are Central Plaza in Eastwood City; Lucky Chinatown in Binondo, Manila; Arcovia City in Pasig; Venice Piazza in McKinley Hill, Taguig; The Village Square in Alabang, Muntinlupa; Clark Cityfront in Clark, Pampanga; Southwoods Mall in Biñan, Laguna; Iloilo Festive Walk in Mandurriao, Iloilo City, and The Mactan Newtown in Mactan, Cebu.
