Dolly de Leon continuing international projects following end of actors strike

MANILA, Philippines — Following the end of the actors strike in Hollywood, actress Dolly de Leon is now able to discuss the international projects she's been involved in.

During the opening night of the 11th QCinema International Film Festival at Gateway Mall, Dolly spoke with several members of the media including Philstar.com to share updates on the projects she's working on outside the Philippines.

This includes the second season of "Nine Perfect Strangers" with Nicole Kidman, Murray Bartlett, Liv Ullmann, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, and Aras Aydin which was supposed to begin shooting last September however the strike postponed production.

"Start na ako sa January, mag-shoot na kami sa Germany ng 'Nine Perfect Strangers'," Dolly said with a smile. "Puwede ko na rin pag-usapan, hindi na bawal."

Also anticipated next year are the releases of two movies Dolly shot, Paul Feig's "Grand Death Lotto" with John Cena, Awkwafina, Simu Liu, Seann William Scott, Sam Asghari, and Leslie David Baker, and Nathan Silver's "Between The Temples" starring Jason Schwartzman.

The opening film of this year's QCinema International Film Festival was 2023 Venice International Film Festival Golden Lion winner "Poor Things" by Yorgos Lanthimos, a director Dolly has previously said she wants to work with someday.

"Yes! Gusto ko talaga siya makatrabaho, tsaka I've heard a lot of good things about him, mabait daw sa set," Dolly told Philstar.com. "Kaya ako nandito ngayon because I love his work."

Prior to "Poor Things," the Greek filmmaker directed Oscar-nominated films "The Favourite," "The Lobster" and "Dogtooth" as well as other eccentric movies such as "The Killing of Sacred Deer" and "Alps."
