DSWD chief 2nd among top-performing Cabinet members

MANILA, Philippines — Social Welfare Secretary Rex Gatchalian ranked second among members of President Marcos’ Cabinet who have been considered as top performers, based on a survey conducted last March 18 to 24.

“On behalf of Secretary Rex Gatchalian and the whole DSWD (Department of Social Welfare and Development), we would like to extend our gratitude to the Filipino people for this recognition and their continued confidence and trust in our leader,” DSWD spokesperson and Assistant Secretary for disaster response management Irene Dumlao said over the weekend.

“It serves as a testament to the hard work and leadership of Secretary Gatchalian in shepherding the Department,” Dumlao added.

Gatchalian garnered an 89-percent job approval rating and 91-percent trust rating.

About 10,000 respondents from the country’s 67.75 million registered voters participated in the Boses ng Bayan quarterly survey through face-to-face interviews, as conducted by the RP-Mission and Development Foundation.
