Duterte: Sara’s threat just hyperbole
MANILA, Philippines — Former president Rodrigo Duterte laughed off Vice President Sara Duterte’s remark that she would throw the remains of President Marcos’ father into the West Philippine Sea.
“It’s just all talk. There is no truth to that,” Duterte said. “Sara’s declaration was just an extended hyperbole.”
Duterte said among his children, it is Sara who got his fiery attitude and uncouth mouth.
Her statement might have stemmed from her frustration with the Marcos administration, Duterte said.
Sara had said at a press conference that she would throw former president Ferdinand Marcos’ remains into the West Philippine Sea if the Marcoses continued to attack the Dutertes.
Marcos and Sara had a falling out following the alleged political attacks by the President’s allies against the Vice President, which led to the breakup of their 2022 tandem.
This apparently prompted the Vice President to resign as education secretary.
The Office of the Vice President’s proposed P2.037-billion budget for next year was also slashed to P733.198 million.
