(UPDATE) THE Department of Education (DepED) emerged as the most trusted and the best-performing government agency in the first quarter Tugon ng Masa survey by independent pollster OCTA Research. The survey, conducted from March 11-14, 2024, showed that DepEd obtained an 82 percent trust rating, followed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Department of Health (DoH) with 79 percent, the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) with 73 percent, and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) with 71 percent. The Education Department's trust ratings were highest in Mindanao, 94 percent, and those under socioeconomic class D and E, 85 and 71 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, agencies with less than 50 percent trust ratings were the Department of Energy (DoE) with 49 percent; Department of Transportation (DOTr), 45 percent; Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), 42 percent; Department of Budget and Management (DBM), 41 percent; Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), 40 percent; Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), 39 percent; and Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), 36 percent.
