Fuel prices up again after 3-week rollback

(UPDATES) OIL companies raised their pump prices Tuesday, ending three straight weeks of rollbacks.

The increase was attributed mainly to continuing conflicts in the Middle East.

The per-liter prices of gasoline and kerosene went up by P1 and diesel by P1.20.

The Department of Energy's Oil Industry Management Bureau said the growing optimism of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries over global oil demand also contributed to the increases.

Since January, the price of gasoline has risen by P8.05 and diesel by P5.95.

The price of kerosene has dropped by P2.15.
