‘Happy Christmas for Caloy Yulo’s family’
BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — The family and siblings of Olympian medalist Carlos Yulo will have a festive Christmas season.
This was after entrepreneur and former Ilocos Sur governor Chavit Singson announced on Oct. 26 that he would give P1 million to the parents and siblings of Yulo, for them to celebrate the coming holiday season.
He promised to give the amount to the Yulo family in December.
In a press briefing at a hotel in Bacolod City, Singson said the P5 million he offered to Yulo, if he reunites with family, is still there.
He wants Yulo to reconcile with his mother, Angelica, stressing that he wanted the gymnast “to be the role model of a family.”
Singson, who is running for the Senate, said whatever Angelica did to the younger Yulo, Carlos “should forgive her.”
“Honor thy father and thy mother, that’s very important,” the former governor said.
Singson was accompanied by his daughter Ako Ilocano party-list group Rep. Richelle Singson in attending the Bacolod MassKara Festival.
“If he reconciles with his mother, he will get the P5 million,” Singson said, adding there is no deadline for Yulo to decide.
