Holidays declared in Western Samar, South Cotabato LGUs

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang has declared Aug. 5 and Sept. 10 as special non-working holidays in Calbayog in Western Samar and Polomolok in South Cotabato, respectively.

Proclamations 637 allows residents of Calbayog to commemorate the birth anniversary of Jose Avelino, who served as the first Senate president after World War II.

Meanwhile, Proclamation 638 was issued in line with the celebration of the 21st Flomlok Festival in Polomolok.

The proclamations were signed on July 18 by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin by the authority of President Marcos.
