Hontiveros wants Quiboloy to face accusers in Senate probe

MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Risa Hontiveros wants Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, the founder and leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), to attend the next hearing of her committee. His alleged victims have confirmed their attendance, and the lawmaker believes that Pastor Quiboloy should face them.

«We will face Quiboloy and his co-accused in the Senate. Many 'victims' still want to testify to defend their humanity, dignity, and truth,» said Hontiveros, who led the Senate investigation into the alleged crimes committed by Quiboloy against KOJC members.

According to Hontiveros, Quiboloy deserves to be held accountable by the law. He and his co-accused have caused unspeakable pain to women, children, and the most vulnerable. «Bringing them to justice is a big step toward full justice,» she stressed.

«We are particularly grateful to alias Amanda. She was one of the first to testify in public, through the Senate, to reveal Quiboloy's systematic rape, abuse, and exploitation,» she said.

«Amanda's courage has inspired more victim-survivors to fight for justice. So our Senate hearing will continue,» Hontiveros added.

Quiboloy has a standing warrant of arrest from the Senate and House of Representatives for repeatedly ignoring subpoenas issued to him for separate investigations.
