It’s Eastridge all the way

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines —The young crew of Eastridge combined for 116 points at Pinewoods to complete a wire to wire victory in the championship division of the second Cordillera Golf Foundation Inc (CGFI) tournament here yesterday.

The Binangonan-based club scored 140 at Camp John Hay Golf Club and 131 at Baguio Country Club en route to a 387 total, way ahead off closest pursuer JBA Construction’s 328 after an awful 99 output in Sta. Lucia’s championship layout. House of Yogurt placed third with 97-310.

Raffy Tulfo in Action North topped the Regular-A title with 298 (121-88-89). Cho Paeng finished second with 294 (101-98-95) in the event sponsored by San Miguel Corp. and Cebu Blue Bloods.

Igolfers USA III proved steadier at Pinewoods Golf and Country Club, tallying 59 points for a 193 gross and nipping overnight leader Kalinga Mountaineers I for the Seniors C division.

Rosendo Ross Reyes and Jesus Diaz scored similar 17 points each at Pinewoods and led the team to 59 markers and and a one-point victory over the Rep. Sonny Mangaoang-led squad.

Trailing by five points after the Baguio Country Club leg, the US-based squad got 13 and 12 points from Joel Pachao and Luke Umaming to overhaul the lead and win the crown. Mangaoang scored a flight best 26 but only got 12 and 10 from Renier Sarol and Henry Tubban Sr., respectively, while Camilo Lummawin managed a measly five points for the team’s 53-192 closing tally.
