John Estrada claims marriage breakup 'mutual' but wife says otherwise
MANILA, Philippines — Actor John Estrada admitted that he and his wife, Priscilla Meirelles have «mutually agreed to take a break for some time» although the Miss Earth 2004 said otherwise.
«Priscilla and I have mutually agreed to take a break for quite some time now. There's more to the story but the last thing I want to do is hurt the people I love,» Estrada first wrote on his Instagram account on Tuesday night.
Estrada issued a statement following rumors of marital problems that were fueled by his wife's comment on Estrada's Boracay photos.
«Looking very divorced, Mr. Estrada @ Lily Hallman_,» Meirelles said.
Although the comment section for Estrada has been turned off, internet users managed to capture screenshots of the beauty queen's statement.
Estrada was accused of cheating by his wife in one of his Instagram posts in Boracay, according to a report. Estrada clarified the speculations and cleared the name of Hallman in his Instagram story.
«I want to make it clear that I am not in a relationship with Lily Hallman or any other woman for that matter. I just met her in Boracay. I had a short break from work and felt the need for a breather,» he said.

Meirelles was ''deeply shocked and disheartened'' about Estrada's statement on the break up and said in her own Instagram account that «there was never any mutual agreement regarding our separation.»
